Kira Muratova was born in 1934, graduated from VGIK.
The fame was brought to her by the films “Short Meetings” (1967) and “Long Swey” (1971).
Muratova’s painting “Asthenic Syndrome” received a special prize of the jury of the Berlin Film Festival in 1990. The film "The Supporter" was shown at the festival in Venice.
The recent works of the director were the drama “Melody for a barrel organ” (2009) and “Eternal Return” (2012).
