On Wednesday, June 6, director and screenwriter Kira Muratova died, her husband Evgeniy Golubenko told the Buro 24/7 website.

• Kira Muratova was born in 1934, graduated from VGIK.
• She became famous for the films “Brief Encounters” (1967) and “Long Farewell” (1971).
• Muratova’s film “Asthenic Syndrome” received a special jury prize at the Berlin Film Festival in 1990. The film “The Adjuster” was shown at the Venice Film Festival.
• The director's latest works were the dramas "Melody for a Organ Organ" (2009) and "Eternal Return" (2012).
