Meme: for yourself and for Sashka

The phrase from the Badcomedian review on the “upward movement” turned into a popular comic about a child ready to bite his hand.

On December 31, 2017, a “upward movement” was released at the Russian box office - a picture about the victory of the USSR national basketball team at the 1972 Olympic Games. According to the plot of the film, at first the team experiences difficulties and encounters disagreements, but after the illness of the center Alexander Belov, players unite and beat the Americans in the final. For a month, the picture became the cashier in the history of Russian cinema.

At the end of May, the blogger Yevgeny Bazhenov, known as Badcomedian, published a review of the “upward movement”. He criticized the film for the plagiarism of the American "miracle on ice" and historical inaccuracy.

The blogger also had questions for the motivation of the characters: in his opinion, the entire transformation of the Soviet team into one team is built only on the phrase “for itself and for Sashka”, which the coach shouts after Belov’s disease. Badcomedian noted that “for yourself and for Sasha” can work as a motivation for anything: boxers will beat stronger, and politicians will win in the elections.

This is not the first time Bazhenov is focused on a separate phrase in the film, making a topic for jokes from it. Similarly, he came with “You know Rus” in the film “Attraction” and “Lyali no more” in the Gazagoldere. As in previous times, a quote about Sasha went "to the people."

With the same phrase, they joked about the timing of Bazhenov’s review to “upward movement”: the video goes 138 minutes - five minutes longer than the film.

Based on the cry of the “for themselves and for Sasha”, pictures began to make. Often their main character was Vladimir Gaified, a coach from the “Up movement”, played by Vladimir Mashkov.

The phrase that Badcomedian popularized began to be sent to the screenwriter of the film Nikolai Kulikov.

A few hours after the review, his version of the joke about the motivation of the “Movement Up” characters was drawn by the artist Anatoly Chilik. He portrayed a child who refuses a spoon with food “for himself and for his mother”, but, having heard “for himself and for Sasha,” eats food with his hand.

The comic book became popular - it was noted by Bazhenov himself. And in social networks there were other versions of what could be sowned by the child to start to eat.

On June 4, the comic appeared on the main page of the Internet Reddit. Users presented instead of a child of the Horde and an alliance from the video game World of Warcraft.

It was quite easy to find out Russian users on a predominantly English -language forum.

Twitter also noticed that their version of the comic book “For themselves and for Sashka” was published in the community of Roskomnadzor in VKontakte. At the same time, a watermark of Chilik disappeared from the picture, although the department, including engaged in blocking pirate content. It is not known whether an employee of Roskomnadzor removed the signature or he simply took a template with an already erased surname of the artist, but after discontent, the record was deleted .
