Andronik Arutyunov was detained near the University metro station in Moscow, municipal deputy Maxim Gongalsky told OVD-Info. Arutyunov held a single picket in support of Moscow State University student Dmitry Petelin, who is suspected of vandalism.
According to the deputy, the detainee is presumably in the Ramenki police station. During the arrest, the policeman said that Arutyunov was charged with Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (violation of the procedure for holding a public event).
UPD On the page of the Moscow State University Initiative Group it is reported that Arutyunov is the co-chairman of the “University Solidarity” trade union.
UPD 16:15 Arutyunov was taken to the Ramenki police station, Vladimir Kolmov, the organizing secretary of the central council of University Solidarity, told OVD-Info.
UPD 20:30 As reported to the OVD-Info hotline, Arutyunov is being left at the department overnight. At the same time, a report was initially drawn up against him under an article that did not imply arrest and detention for more than three hours. It is unknown whether the case was reclassified.
