Alexey Kasyan, an employee of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the father of Nikolai Kasyan, an activist of Navalny’s headquarters, was charged with a post on LiveJournal. This is the human rights advocacy of Open Russia.
According to the report, Kasyan is charged with Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity using the Internet). According to investigators, Kasyan posted a post on LiveJournal that contained signs of hostility towards Asians, Caucasians and groups of people identified based on a combination of national and religious characteristics.
Kasyan's girlfriend Olga Popova was interrogated: she is a witness in the case. At the Dorogomilovsky Interdistrict Investigation Department they checked her for “involvement in a crime” and asked about things in the apartment.
In the morning, Kasyan was searched. Only Olga Popova was in the apartment.
