The Krasnogvardeisky District Court of St. Petersburg fined the Association of Carriers of Russia 400 thousand rubles under an article on violating the procedure for the activities of an NPO performing the functions of a foreign agent. This was reported by the United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg in the Tam Tam messenger.
The organization was charged with Part 1 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code. The court twice returned the case to the prosecutor's office due to errors in drawing up the protocol (clause 4 of article 29.4 of the Administrative Code).
- On December 1, 2017, the Ministry of Justice included the organization in the register of foreign agents. The Association of Russian Carriers consists of truckers protesting against the Platon system. The Ministry of Justice website reported that the decision was made as a result of an “unscheduled documentary check.” Chairman of the OPR Andrei Bazhutin said that the association does not receive funding from abroad.
- According to Rosbalt, the association received a one-time donation of 250 thousand rubles from Germany - the Ministry of Justice could perceive this as foreign funding. The organization believes that they can receive donations according to the charter.
