
US President Donald Trump and the North Korean dictator Kim Jong -un flew to Singapore to participate in the first negotiations of the leaders of the two countries, reports Reuters.
Trump arrived in Singapore on a presidential plane. He was met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the city-state Vivian Balakrishnan. Secretary of State Pompeo, National Security Advisor John Bolton, head of the White House apparatus John Kelly and spokesman for the presidential administration Sarah Sanders, arrived with the president.
On Sunday, Kim Jong -un flew to Singapore. At the airport he was also greeted by Balakrishnan. The dictator took with him the head of the North Korean Foreign Ministry Lee Yong Ho and the deputy chairman of the ruling labor party of Korea, his close associate Kim Yong Chol.
Kim Jong-un met with Prime Minister Singapore Lee Xianlun.
According to the Associated Press, Trump called the upcoming negotiations on the DPRK nuclear disarmament the only chance to improve the life of the North Korean people. “I feel that Kim Jong -un wants to do something good for his people, and he has such an opportunity, but once again he will not introduce him,” the president emphasized.
The historical meeting of Trump and Kim Jong -un should be held on Monday on Singapura, Sentos Island in the Indian Ocean.
Direct negotiations between the DPRK and the USA were announced in April. On May 24, after the aggressive attack of the North Korean Foreign Ministry, Trump announced the abolition of the meeting. However, her preparation soon resumed.
