The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the head of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, Alexander Shestun, who is accused of abuse of power.
Shestun was arrested for a period of two months. He himself, commenting on his case before the court session, called what was happening "a complete order for lawlessness."
The defendant's side told TASS about its intention to appeal against the decision to place Shestun in custody. “The defense considers Shestun’s accusation unfounded, and his arrest is an unnecessarily strict measure of restraint, we will file a complaint with the Moscow City Court,” said lawyer Pavel Bespalov.
