The premiere of the performance of the theater.doc about Oyub Titieva made a splash. Even the police with a dog arrived

Three women in black long dresses are sitting on stage. The faces are lowered, black scarves cover the foreheads.

In turn, very calmly, they say. The brother, who was “for incorrect behavior”, was holding at home, fastening with handcuffs to the battery, and beat her, and she was able to call the human rights activists, “but as a result, she could not help, because from some point it became clear that everything was already.”

The fact that “when things went very hard, many suggested that he leave this work. When we were left alone, he told me: “You know, if I leave, I don’t think the“ Memorial ”will work here. <...> 3-4 years ago, he forced to take out his family. He took his family, and he returned to Chechnya to work. ”

Two men are sitting on both sides of women, they are silent, then one says: “It was extremely difficult for me to return to a normal life. I have been treated for a very long time. The psychologist and translator cried at every appointment. Because of the captivity, I had problems with memory. <...> I spent one month and ten days in a single chamber almost without light, with meager food.

From there they brought only to torture. When my head was examined, they said that due to oxygen starvation, some cells in the brain were failing. ”

The documentary performance about the head of the Grozny branch of the Human Rights Center “Memorial” Oyub Titieva, detained in January, allegedly for the storage of marijuana, in the theater.doc prepared in less than two months. For the first time it was shown in the reader format on June 13, in the building of the International Memorial in Moscow.

The performance was based on more than ten interviews with Moscow and Chechen human rights activists, Oyub’s colleagues, people who he pulled out of prisons, saved from persecution. Their names for security reasons are not disclosed, the names of people who interviews too.

“They brought me a lot, a lot of material,” says the director of the play Julia Aug, “a thick pack of paper, a whole novel. The first impression was: people adore Oyub. They want to talk about him. Maybe they are scared - but they still want to help him, protect him.

In the play, the law enforcement officers talk about Oyub sincerely and openly: how Oyub took to protect women, even when they violated Chechen norms of behavior. As always, he knew: "Whatever the results are - what he is able to do, he will do." As suffered from the fact that in Chechnya there was a gradual reassessment of values: “Not in relation to his work, but in relation to the authorities that were held and held on the blood. People somehow began to get used to it and everyone remained relatively calm, until the trouble was knocking on his door. ”

- In almost all interviews, people talked about the incredible respect for Oyub for women. That he is a warrior. That he perceived everyone around him as a relatives could go and buy food to his employees, feed, ”says Julia Aug. - They say that he believed: the person who does this work should be healthy and physically strong.

In the performance, they deliberately left long fragments of interviews, in which colleagues tell how Oyub went in for sports every day, "it was already very cool, just like a closet." These endless certificates confirm that there could be no drugs in the life of Oyub. Julia Aug is sure that it is necessary to talk about this out loud.

- A month ago, few knew who Oleg Sentsov was. Now what he is sitting for and why he is starving, everyone knows, ”says the director. - Our goal is to do the same with Oyub Titiev. The authorities must understand that his arrest will not go unnoticed.

Suddenly, right between the monologues about Oyub, the actors begin to tell adats, talk about “inner jihad”, read culinary recipes. Oyub loves chicken. Is it possible to make a slurry-talnash not from lamb, but from chicken? Oyub loves cakes. Cakes with cottage cheese filling are baked in a dry pan and impregnated with melted butter. "It turns out very soft and tender, it is a pleasure to eat." Women take off black scarves, put in front of them, fiercely click and wrinkle like a month of dough. At the beginning of the performance behind them, an Islamic fashion show on the large screen: women in long dresses with ethereal shadows move along the catwalk. Long skirts, scarves.

“We inserted recipes into the performance, because in addition to human rights and criminal proceedings, life remains. Because these moments for the viewer are exhale, ”says Julia Aug. In the place of this exhalation, the audience finally holds their breath in horror - and notice that all the heroes are talking about Oyub only in the past tense, as if he was no longer there.

“2268 people have received the help of the Memorial over the past 8 years,” Julia pronounces the last phrase of the performance from the stage. “We would like to call you the names of each of them, but we cannot.” Because we are afraid for them.

The moment of Trudinov

Suddenly for the theater and for the audience, the performance of Oyub Titieva was in two actions. The second was played by the police in the genre of tragicomedy.

When in the hall of the Memorial on the carriage already discussed the completed performance, the police arrived in the theater.doc building in the Maly Kazyenny lane, announced that they had received a signal, that the room was mined, and demanded the audience and actors to leave the hall. The theater staff explained that they did not receive any threats and continued to play the absolutely non -political repertoire performance “Casting”.

The police left, but soon returned with the employees of the Ministry of Emergencies and dog handlers, once again announced evacuation, sniffed the building with a dog named Tanya, figured out that they mixed up the performances - and went to the carriage.

By that time, the audience had already dispersed, and only actors, employees of the Memorial - and residents of the nine -story building in which his office was located remained in the building.

The police reported the second time in the evening about the threat of the explosion, cordoned off all approaches to the building and demanded that employees evacuate. Most refused. Vladimir Trueov walked the district authorized department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Tver District, scared with compulsory evacuation, threatened: “Take off like Guryanov”, finally, with despair, appealed: “Come out! The dog will come now. ”

By ten in the evening, employees were taken (closing in their offices wrote to evacuated messages: “We have not found us yet”), interrogators, a dog handler with the same dog Tanya entered the building-and for some reason an employee of the ecological police. The employees of the Memorial forced to leave the courtyard of the building. The residents of the upper floors were left "to take off like Guryanov, in apartments.

- What happened here? -one of the residents asked the policeman.

“They have a Memorial Political Theater,” he answered.
