Two anarchists were detained in Irkutsk. They are accused of holding an uncoordinated rally

Two anarchists Sofia Bazhenova and Igor Martynenko were detained in Irkutsk. Bazhenova herself told about this OVD-Info.

The activists were detained at the bus station when they arrived after their vacation. The police said that Bazhenova and Martynenko were avoiding drawing up protocols for holding an unauthorized rally on May 1, and asked the young people to go with them. The activists refused, and the police forced them into the car.

After the detainees were taken to police station No. 5.

According to Bazhenova, on May 1, she and other activists held a happening "Mem, Labor - May Day", having previously notified the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor's office, the mayor, the governor and the commissioner for human rights in Irkutsk.

According to the encyclopedia “Culturology. XX century”, happening is a theatrical momentary action on an improvisational basis with the active participation of the audience, aimed at blurring the boundaries between art and life.

UPD 13:30 Bazhenova told OVD-Info that a protocol had been drawn up against her under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to the lawful demands of the police). She is detained for 48 hours, a copy of the detention protocol is at the disposal of OVD-Info.

UPD 16:39 Human rights activist Svyatoslav Khromenkov told OVD-Info that a protocol was drawn up against Martynenko under part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by the organizer of the procedure for holding a public event) due to the “Monstration” in the happening format.

The activists are left overnight in the police, the next day they will be taken to court. The hearing in the case of Bazhenova will be held in the Kirovsky District Court, in the case of Martynenko - in the Oktyabrsky District Court.
