The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Kirill Kotov, an activist of the Left Resistance, who was detained during a solitary picket on June 12, for 15 days. This was reported to OVD-Info by Daria Polyudova.
The activist was found guilty under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event).
Kotov was detained when he stood in a single picket at the monument to Marshal Zhukov with a poster “On Russia Day we demand freedom. There will be a revolution. FIFA World Cup boycott. The activist stayed in the department for about two days.
On that day, Polyudova was also detained, a protocol was drawn up against her under part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event). According to the policemen, she passed the poster to Kotov, thus taking part in the picket.
