Omsk: The judge after suicide was found guilty of corruption

The Omsk Regional Court found the federal judge Sergei Moskalenko guilty of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale after he committed suicide.

The court decision was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the senior assistant to the region’s prosecutor Dmitry Pavlenko. In connection with the death of the accused in January 2017, the case was dismissed. Earlier, Moskalenko’s relatives refused to terminate the case on an non -rehabilitating basis.

The case against the judge of the Kuibyshevsky district court of Omsk Sergey Moskalenko was opened in the summer of 2016, and in December he was charged with receiving a bribe from the head of the Omstroy-2001 construction company Viktor Berg. Moskalenko considered the criminal case against Victor Berg in the period from 2010 to 2015. Berg was accused of embezzlement of more than 100 million rubles from equity holders, non -payment of salaries to 373 employees of the company and other crimes. The court found that Moskalenko was supposed to return the criminal case to the prosecutor for a bribe of 8 million rubles, and if he repeatedly admitted to the court, to justify the accused.

In October 2015, Berg was shot on the outskirts of Omsk, and a month later Moskalenko received a stab and went to the hospital. The version of the attack was not confirmed, according to the Investigative Committee, the judge himself wounded himself in the thigh. In December 2015, the qualification collegium of judges agreed with the initiation regarding Moskalenko of the criminal case, he was dismissed. Before his death, the judge learned that the judge’s college should consider issues of confession of him guilty of the murder of Berg and detention.
