The number of dollar millionaires in Russia set a new record

From the report of the World Wealth Report, prepared by the Capgemini financial company, it follows that the number of dollar millionaires in Russia over the past year increased by 4% and amounted to 189.5 thousand people.

This is a record indicator of HNWI (High Net Worth Individuals, persons with the largest personal conditions) since 2008 (then in Russia there were half as much - only 97.1 thousand people). The total condition of dollar millionaires in Russia for 2017 increased by 5.2%, RBC writes.

However, growth rates were lower than the mid -Issue, notes the publication. The result of the Russian Federation is more than twice as lower than the average -I average (+9.5%, from 16.515 million to 18.1 million) and five times lower than in India (+20%, from 219 thousand to 263 thousand, due to which India circled the number of millionaires of the Netherlands).

Among 25 countries leading in the number of millionaires, more slowly than in Russia, their number in 2017 grew only in the UK (+1%) and Saudi Arabia (+2%).

According to the total number of millionaires, Russia takes 15th place in the world, overtaking Saudi Arabia (179 thousand), Brazil (171 thousand) and Norway (170 thousand). The United States remain an indisputable leader in the number of HNWI, where by the end of 2017 there were 5.285 million people (+10% compared to 2016). In addition, the first three included Japan (3.162 million, +9%) and Germany (1.365 million, +7%).

The total condition of the dollar millionaires of the world over a year increased by 10.6% and for the first time in history exceeded $ 70 trillion, reaching 70.2 trillion.
