The Moscow City Court rejected the appeal of the arrested animal rights activist

The Moscow City Court rejected the appeal of the arrested animal rights activist Yury Koretskikh. This was reported to OVD-Info by lawyer Olga Rozhkova.

Rozhkova noted that the meeting was initially of an accusatory nature: the bailiff and an unknown person in civilian clothes said that the audience should not be present at the open hearing of the case. However, the court accepted Rozhkova's objection and let the zookeeper's friends into the hall.

In addition, according to the lawyer, the judge did not attach most of the petitions, and also did not go to the deliberation room to make decisions.

• On June 15, animal rights activist Yury Koretsky was arrested for eight days. He was found guilty of holding a public event without approval (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of the action of animal rights activists that took place on June 14. However, the activist was detained even before the start of the rally, when he was just walking down the street.
• After the decision to arrest was made, someone changed the password from the Koretsky page on VKontakte. In addition, unknown people hacked into his Telegram and Google mail accounts.
