Sentsov: I will not ask Putin about pardon

Oleg Sentsov, the 40th day continuing the hunger strike in the Yamalo-Nenets IK-8 in Labytnangi, assured that he would not send Vladimir Putin a petition for pardon. This was announced on his FB page, journalist Anton Naumluk with reference to the lawyer Dmitry Dinze, who again visited Police in the colony on Friday.

Sentsov also forbade Dinze himself to serve such paper.

“He is very pale, constantly lies and does not get up so as not to waste his strength,” the lawyer said after a Friday visit to the client. “Every day, and today, too, he is examined by the doctors of the colony.”

In March of this year , Dinze, on the contrary, reported the readiness of Sentsov to submit a petition for pardon. As we might assume, this statement was not agreed with his client.

Dinze explained his statement by the fact that the presentation of a pardon is the only means for Ukrainian political zones to achieve liberation. Meanwhile, Russian legislation, regulating the submission of such statements by the convicts themselves, does not contain any indications that such papers can be submitted only by them, and not by third parties. The possibility of sending petitions by third parties is also reinforced by practice: relatives of the VGTRK propagandists, whose death was charged with a pilot, and the pardon of Akhtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umarov, the head of the collaborative muft of the Crimea and Sevastopol Emirali Ablaev, asked for pardoning the hope of hope. Savchenko themselves, Chiygoz and Umov to Putin were not addressed with any requests.

On Wednesday, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Turbirn Jagund, said that he was ready to personally send a petition for the pardon of Sentsov on humanitarian grounds provided for by the European Convention. Since the circle of subjects entitled to submit such paper is not defined, it is possible that the petitions of foreigners can also be considered.

Sentsov after arrest repeatedly made statements that expressed an extremely contemptuous attitude towards Putin. In particular, the political prisoner called him a "bloody dwarf."
