The Crimean Tatar activist server Karametov died

In the annexed Crimea, a veteran of the Crimean Tatar National Movement, a 77-year-old server of Karametov, died in a hospital, journalist Anton Naumluk said . Karametova was hit by a car in the Old Crimea.

“One of those who seem to have always been somewhere nearby, no matter what happened to the Crimean Tatars,” the journalist wrote.

The first to hospitalize Karametov on Saturday was reported on Facebook by the Crimean Tatar activist Abu Hamid. He wrote that the accident "recently" occurred in the Old Crimea, Crimean Tatar Enver Arabadzhiev suffered with Karametov, he was also hospitalized. Both received fractures. Hamid published a photograph in which the victims lie on the road near the car.

On August 9 last year, Karametov was arrested for 10 days for a single picket against repressions against Crimean Tatars at the Supreme Court of Crimea in Simferopol. After serving the sentence, he was taken to the Simferopol bus station and left there without money.

On May 18, 2017, on the day of memory of the victims of the Stalinist deportation of the Crimean Tatars, Karametov was detained during a single picket on the central square of Simferopol. Then they took explanations from the activist and released him without drawing up the protocol.
