The case of Oyub Titiev: two appeals

On June 25, the Supreme Court of Chechnya scheduled two hearings in the case of the head of the Chechen "Memorial" Oyub Titiev - he was arrested on trumped-up charges of possession of drugs.

At 11 a.m., an appeal against the decision of the Staropromyslovsky District Court of Grozny of May 24 on the legality of the refusal to initiate a criminal case against the policemen who planted a bag of marijuana on Titiev will be considered. Consideration of the appeal to extend Titiev's arrest until July 9 is to begin at 12 noon.
