“NewsTracker”: in the Stavropol region the authorities recommended not to write about pension reform

At a meeting of editors of regional newspapers in the Stavropol Territory, the government "strongly recommended" not to write about pension reform. This is reported by NewsTracker, citing a government source.

In addition, the circulation of the Blagodarnenskie Vesti newspaper was taken out of print because of an article about the reform. According to a source, the rector of the newspaper said that the management of the Stavropol Periodicals publishing house asked to see the article, after which the circulation was removed and another was released without material on raising the retirement age.

According to an interlocutor of NewsTracker, the authorities fear a sharp reaction from the population and are trying to control district publications, which for many residents of rural settlements are the only source of information.
