The British government decided to redeem the house in Salisbury, belonging to a poisoned 66-year-old former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal, as well as real estate hospitalized with symptoms of Police Bailey poisoning.
Skripal’s real estate, which he once bought for 387,000 euros, will be bought out for this amount (397 thousand euros), and Bailey's house for 488 thousand euros. In addition, the government will buy cars belonging to Skripal and Bailey, and their other property. In total, about 1.2 million euros will be spent on these purposes.
The British police previously came to the conclusion that the fighting poisonous substance was applied to the door handle in the dwelling of the ex-GRU employee about a day before poisoning. The Ministry of Environmental Protection, Food and Agricultural Development noted that the investigation in the case of the poisoning of a former agent has not yet been completed. Skripal's house remains a crime scene, the investigation continues. "In the house of Skripal, investigative actions are still ongoing, there have been no sanctions for its deactivation yet," the ministry emphasized.
According to The Daily Star newspaper, a source in government circles did not specify what will happen further with property purchased for budget money. Whether it will be destroyed or it is bought for any other purposes is unknown.
The investigation has already restored the chronology of poisoning , which occurred after the 33-year-old daughter of Skripal Julia came to her father’s house on March 3, flew to the UK from Russia. It is known that from that moment until the morning of March 4, they did not leave the house. And in the middle of the same day they were found unconscious on a bench in the center of Salisbury. Determining the temporary framework "allowed investigators to concentrate resources at work to identify those responsible" for this crime.
Sergei Skripal himself and his daughter are already discharged from the hospital, but they continue to undergo treatment. Their whereabouts are kept secret.
Recall, on March 12, British Prime Minister Teresa May announced in parliament that Sergei and Julia Skripyl were poisoned by a nervous-paralytic substance, under the code name "Novice" (A-234) developed in Russia. On April 12, OPCW experts confirmed London’s conclusions about the nature of the substance that were poisoned by the Skripals. In Moscow, this is strongly refuted.
What will happen next with the real estate of the Skripals and why the government to buy these houses
What will happen next to the Skripals house and for what purposes the government redeems it - the reaction to the decision to redeem real estate poisoned by the "newcomer" was very restrained in the British media.
Local publications immediately calculated that the total amount of costs in this case had already exceeded 7.5 million pounds (about 10 million dollars), and expressed bewilderment, why redeem at home, if they, as previously reported, were subject to destruction.
The Prochrevsky resource of Russia Today , referring to users of the social network, announced that the true reason for this is the desire of the British to hide some facts, since there is still no evidence that the Russian special services stood behind the poisoning of the Skripals.
Why the government buys these houses and cars, asks the TV channel and answers - it is unlikely that in order to open the "Museum" Novice "there. Most likely, in order to conceal something from the public.

An even stranger version of the buying up real estate of Skripals by the British government was proposed by the President of the International Association of Veterans of the Anterrotor Anterrror Sergey Goncharov. He assures that the houses of Skripal and Bailey are not bought at all in order to finally destroy all traces in this matter. In his opinion, Britain decided to spend 1 million pounds in spite of Russia.
"There are absolutely no need to destroy the British evidence and traces! I assure you that they will never allow our experts before the investigation and will not present us with any materials on this matter. Messages in the press about the intention to redeem the houses and cars of Skripal and Bely - nothing more than another PR -house of official London. And his purpose is not to be accusations from the first pages of British newspapers Russia in all mortal sins, ”said the veteran in an interview with MK .
“In connection with the World Cup in the world press, including the British, there was too much positive about our country: athletes, journalists, and fans who were intimidated in every way before the start of the 2018 World Cup. So they had to throw something in order to spoil this positive picture. This is exactly what they did now,” the alpha veteran made an unusual conclusion.
