Rosobrnadzor will conduct an accreditation examination of a university in Donbass

The website of Rosobrnadzor published an order to conduct an accreditation examination at the Donetsk National Medical University (DonNMU), a university located in Ukrainian Donetsk under the control of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.

On what basis Rosobrnadzor, whose powers include checking the compliance of university programs with Russian educational standards, will conduct an examination of a foreign university, is unclear. The order lists the same grounds as in similar documents about Russian universities (for example, in this one ).

Update : Rosobrnadzor told RBC that educational organizations located and operating outside of Russia can receive state accreditation in the Russian Federation if they work in accordance with federal state educational standards.

• Officially, after the start of the war in Donbass, DonNMU was evacuated to the city of Krasny Liman (now Liman), but the university with the same name continues to work in Donetsk, under the control of separatists.
