Stavropol: Politzek Savostin announced a dry hunger strike

Mineral waters polyactivist Mikhail Savostin, sent in a pre -trial detention center in the fabricated drug case, announced a dry hunger strike demanding to stop the persecution. This was reported by "Mediazona" with reference to the lawyer "Agora" Viktor Zubenko, who represents the interests of the Politzek.

Savostin began his action on June 27, when he was taken out of the pre-trial detention center-2 in Pyatigorsk in the IVS in the Ministry of Walls to participate in the hearing about the next extension of the arrest. On Friday, the Mineralovodsk City Court extended the Politzeck arrest for another month - until August 6.

During two full days, a dry hunger strike, noted Zubenko, the activist’s condition worsened markedly.

The lawyer added that on Friday he got acquainted with the conclusion of a fingerprint examination in the Savostin case. Politzeck fingerprints on packets with marijuana, the storage of which is charged with him.

In early June , the results of medical examinations in the case became known. One of them did not find the traces of drug use in the Politzek's blood. Meanwhile, another confirmed the infliction of bodily harm to Savostin during detention. Thus, she denied the statement of the investigator that the packet allegedly found under the wheel of a police car, the activist threw it out of his pocket during the detention: at that time Savostin’s wrists were already injured and he could not throw away from his pockets.

Then Zubenko noted that Savostin's health worsened. Politzeck told a lawyer, kidney problems, light and heart; He lost a lot of weight, coughing heavily, and his face darkened. Nevertheless, Savostin did not receive medical care in the pre -trial detention center at that time - he was only given an anesthetic.

40 -year -old Savostin - Chairman of the Stavropol Regional Department of the Independent Union "Solidarity", member of the political council of the Assembly of the peoples of the Caucasus. The opposition was detained on April 5 , when, together with a friend, he went to the next Forum of Free Russia, which was held in Vilnius on the 11-13th day. In the village of Krasny Pakhar, a suburbs of Minvod, the road to the car of Savostin blocked the minibus, from which the security forces ran out in masks. The activist’s comrade was laid down on the asphalt face down, and Savostin himself was brought by force on the minibus, where they tied his hands behind his back with wire, after which, as the lawyer Zubenko said, "carried out some manipulations in the area of ​​his pockets."

Further, the activist with tied hands was brought out, and under the wheel of a minibus, he saw a large bag of marijuana (he, as the security forces claim, and threw it out of his pocket). The police removed another bag from the back pocket of Savostin's trousers.

April 7, the activist was sent to the pre -trial detention center. Initially, it was reported that he was imputed part 3 of article 228 of the Criminal Code (drug trafficking on an especially large scale), which provides from 10 to 15 years in the colony. From the current publication "Mediazons", however, it follows that in the future the prosecution was softened to part 2 of the same article (large, not a particularly large size), the sanction of which is from 3 to 10 years.
