More than a thousand appeals against the construction of the garbage plant near Kirzhach were submitted to the presidential administration

Residents of the Kirzhach district, located on the border with the Moscow and Vladimir regions, submitted more than a thousand appeals to the administration of the President of Russia against the construction of a waste recycling plant in the village of Filippovskoye. About this Novaya Gazeta was told by a member of the initiative group Boris Blagoslavov.

According to him, local residents began to come with appeals yesterday. “We practically paralyzed the work of the presidential administration. A separate window was even allocated for us, where all those who arrived stood in line. Those who did not have time because of work will most likely go tomorrow, ”said Blagosov. Representatives of the initiative group intend to agree on a personal meeting with employees of the presidential administration.

“This monstrous adventure affects my personal interests and interests of my family. <..> The entire territory of the Filippov settlement and the Eastern suburbs, and therefore my family, is threatened with an ecological catastrophe and the danger of being in the near future without drinking water, ”the president, which was at the disposal of Novaya Gazeta, said.

In addition, as Blagoslavov notes, those who are publicly opposed to the construction of the plant in Filippovsky are in pressure. In particular, at the disposal of activists there was a statement by a resident of Moscow, which states that the activities of the hunitive group were aimed not at solving environmental problems, but to replace the leadership in the local administration.

Residents of Filippovsky have been opposed to the construction of a waste recycling plant since August 2017. With reference to hydrogeological examinations, they argue that already a year and a half after the burial of the first waste, the underground waters, which are used by all residents of the village without exception, will be infected. Pollution will also affect the eastern water supply system, to which many cities of East Moscow Region are connected.

The locals managed to dismiss the head of the settlement administration through the court and convince influential investors from the project. In addition, they decided to convene a referendum, but it was not possible to achieve consent to its holding. In March, the administration of the Vladimir region stated that permits for the construction of a plant in Filippovsky were not issued. “In connection with this, we find the question of exhausted, and its further discussion is indescribable and invalid,” the press release says .
