The Investigative Committee completed an investigation into the accused of violence against a police officer

The Investigative Committee has completed the investigation of the criminal case against the volunteer of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny Konstantin Saltykov, who is accused of violence against a policeman (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code) during the “Voter Strike”. This was reported in the telegram channel of the human rights "Open Russia".

Saltykov was charged in the final version, he himself does not admit guilt.

According to investigators, during a rally on January 28 on Tverskaya Street, an activist of the headquarters grabbed a police officer Golovkov by the uniform, inflicted at least one blow on his thigh and tore off his pocket. Saltykov then allegedly punched police officer Makhonin at least once in the face and at least twice on the back. By these actions, according to the investigation, the young man “deliberately created an obstacle to escort Navalny to the official bus,” and also caused moral harm to the police, physical pain and bruises (bruises).

In addition, the human rights organization of Open Russia writes that the case file contains a report by police officer Kuznetsov, who said that Navalny kicked him during the arrest. Kuznetsov claimed that this "caused severe physical pain", and in response he used force on Navalny.

• Saltykov was detained on January 28 during the action "Strike of voters". According to investigators, he "did not want to deliver" Alexei Navalny to the police department and inflicted "at least one blow" on the thigh, on the left cheekbone and back of the police, which allegedly caused them "moral harm, physical pain and bodily harm, not dangerous for life". Meanwhile, Saltykov himself was beaten in a paddy wagon immediately after his arrest.
• The criminal case against the activist was opened on 7 February. Saltykov is charged with part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against a representative of authority).
