Federal Emergency Management Agency workers say they’ve uncovered 270,000 safety violations at shopping centers, movie theaters, hotels, and other public facilities since the deadly fire at a shopping mall in Kemerovo this March.
According to the news agency TASS, officials have charged more than 17,000 people with related administrative offenses. Federal officials are about two-thirds done inspecting almost 90,000 public facilities across the country. The nationwide review will continue until July 30.
