
15 years ago, on July 3, 2003, a journalist and politician, deputy of the State Duma Yuri Shchezhikhin, died. The symptoms of his death were forced to suspect poisoning with radioactive substances.
On September 16, 2010, the UKP resumed an investigation into the criminal case on the death of Shchekochikhin "in connection with the investigation received by new data requiring additional investigative actions."
Shchekochikhin was investigating explosions in Moscow and in Volgodonsk in September 1999. He was also involved in the investigation of money laundering through the Bank of New York and to the Three Whales' case - about the smuggling of elite furniture. In the latter case, high -ranking FSB officers were involved in the scandal.
