The Supreme Court of Chuvashia satisfied the appeals against the participants of the action "He is not our king" Alexander Sosnin and Yuri Tolstov. It is reported by "Idel. Realities".
The court dismissed the cases against Sosnin, who was fined 1,000 rubles under part 1 of article 19.3 (disobedience to the lawful demands of the police), and Yuri Tolstov, who was fined 600 rubles under part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (holding an event without approval).
According to the lawyer of the human rights group "Agora" Alexei Glukhov, the motives for the termination of cases are not yet clear. Glukhov noted that the position of the defense on the appeal was that they tried to attract activists repeatedly for the same act.
“So, Alexander Sosnin was twice prosecuted under Art. 20.2 for the procession and rally, as well as under Art. 19.3. All the materials indicated that “he did not react to the repeated demands of the police officers to stop the event,” Glukhov explained to the publication.
Earlier, the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary found Sosnin guilty of organizing a march that took place after the May 5 rally.
