Anatoly Marchenko, whose name is now recalled in connection with the hunger strike Oleg Sentsov, was sentenced to 10 years in the camps and 5 years in exile on September 4, 1981. The day after the verdict, he was dressed in prison clothes and wrapped as a convict. The wife of Marchenko Larisa Bogoraz received permission from the court for a date, but the administration of the Vladimir prison did not give him (supposedly quarantine), but the duffel gear was not accepted: "He was convicted - he was not laid for him." To the objections of the Bogoraz, that even the deadline for filing the cassation has not expired, they answered: “What is the difference! Still convicted ” [1] .
On September 25, Anatoly Marchenko was sent to the Perm-35 political camp, although the appeal has not yet been considered. The meeting of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR took place in mid -November.
We publish a letter to the head of the Vladimir prison Alexander Ovodin to the head of the Perm camp No. 35 to Nikolai Osin with a request to urgently return Marchenko. The document was preserved in the prison case of Anatoly Marchenko, a copy of which is in the archive of the International Memorial (f.117).
At the end of October, Marchenko was transferred back to the Vladimir prison, the appellate court upheld the sentence, and on December 5, he was again legally sent to the same Perm-35.
