The region's first "Grandfather's Garden" has opened in the city of Kemerovo, which is a special group for day care for the elderly and disabled, according to the website of the regional department of social protection of the population.
“Dedsad” appeared on the basis of a specialized city boarding house located on Kosmicheskaya Street, building 14. The first group included 18 people, the report says.
“Quite often a situation arises when it is impossible to ensure constant duty in the house of elderly relatives,” the department explains. “Many worries arise: will the elderly person turn off the gas, will he take his pills on time, will he eat, will he open the door to a fraudster.” According to the plan, “Desky Sad” will help avoid these problems and preserve the possibility of the elderly and disabled living in the family.
The cost of one day of stay in such a group is 255 rubles, which goes towards dietary nutrition, payment for the work of psychologists, teachers and doctors, reports FlashSiberia . After the project has been tested, it is planned to open a whole network of such groups on the basis of social protection institutions in the region.
