Chairman of the Moscow Yabloko party Sergei Mitrokhin was fined for a single picket

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined the chairman of the Moscow branch of the Yabloko party, Sergei Mitrokhin, 20,000 rubles for a solitary picket near the State Duma building. This is reported by Interfax.

Judge Olga Zatomskaya found Mitrokhin guilty under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the order of the action).

The politician was detained on June 19 during a single picket against raising the retirement age. The police officers who detained him referred to Presidential Decree No. 202 restricting the right to freedom of assembly during the World Cup.

• A draft law on a phased increase in the retirement age in the country from 2019 was submitted to the State Duma. The Change.org petition against the reform has so far collected more than two million signatures.
