The arrested co-chairman of the Other Russia is being searched in Moscow

In Moscow, the apartment of the arrested co-chairman of the Other Russia party Alexander Averin is being searched. This was reported in the movement group on VKontakte.

The search is carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department. The order states that they are looking for weapons.

It is noted that the decision was issued for a pre-trial search, although Averin's case has already been submitted to the court.

UPD 11:50 The search is over. Law enforcement officers did not find weapons in Averin's apartment.

• Averin was detained on April 7 at the border with the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. Averin's associates claim that a Makarov pistol with seven rounds was planted on him. On April 13, the court arrested the activist. The activist was charged with Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons) and combined it with Article 226 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of firearms).
