The editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti-Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was arrested on suspicion of treason, is suspected of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. This was stated in the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
The case is connected with a pistol and cartridges found, according to a representative of the department, in Vyshinsky's bank safe.
“According to the results of a forensic ballistic examination, the specified pistol is a firearm - a self-loading pistol of the FN Browning M1906 model,” the spokeswoman said.
- Kirill Vyshinsky, who has citizenship of Ukraine and Russia, was arrested in Kyiv in mid-May on suspicion of treason. In Russia, after that, cases were opened on obstructing the legal activities of a journalist and bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal responsibility.
