Gudkov was refused registration with a candidate for mayor of Moscow

The Moscow City Electoral Commission today officially refused the candidate from the Civil Initiative party Dmitry Gudkov in registration in the elections of the Moscow Mayor. This decision in the election commission was explained by the fact that of the necessary 110 signatures of municipal deputies, the opposition was provided only by 63.

The ATS-Info portal today reported that journalists were not allowed at a meeting on the registration of candidates.

The Moscow election commission completed the acceptance of documents last Tuesday. Even then, it was reported that Gudkov would be denied registration due to a lack of signatures of municipal deputies.

The number of signatures of municipal deputies necessary for registration was presented by the candidate from "Fair Russia" Ilya Sviridov, the head of the State Duma Committee on Physical Education, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs Mikhail Degtyarev, nominated from the LDPR, Candidate of the Communist Party Vadim Kumin, representative of the Union of Citizens' Party, ex-head of the construction company Su-155 Mikhail Balakin and the current mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, who goes to the elections as a self -nominated man.

The election of the Moscow Mayor will be held on September 9.
