A court in Chuvashia fined the coordinator of Open Russia for the fourth time

In court district No. 1 of the Tsivilsky district of Chuvashia, Anton Kravchenko, coordinator of the regional branch of Open Russia, was fined five thousand rubles. It is reported by "Idel. Realii” with reference to his lawyer and lawyer of “Pravozashchita” Elza Nisanbekova.

At the trial, which lasted no more than 15 minutes, Kravchenko was found guilty under Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (carrying out the activities of an undesirable organization). Nisanbekova noted that she was not given all the materials of the case, but only a resolution. The trial itself took place without a prosecutor.

At the meeting, the judge recalled the story about "Open Russia" on the channel "Ren TV" and said that the activists of the movement are financed from abroad, and, therefore, their activities are undesirable.

• In total, six protocols were drawn up for the coordinator of Open Russia on cooperation with an undesirable organization. On June 19 and 27, Kravchenko was fined 5,000 and 6,000 rubles, respectively, under the same article.

• On April 26, 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office declared undesirable a number of organizations associated with Mikhail Khodorkovsky and registered in other countries. The list includes “Open Russia” (OR Otkrytaya Rossia) and the Open Russia Civic Movement (Open Russia) public network movement registered in the UK, the Institute of Modern Russia (Institute of Modern Russia, Inc), issued in USA.

• The Russian movement "Open Russia" was not banned. Nevertheless, in December 2017, Roskomnadzor entered the website of the Open Russia media project into the register of banned sites. Access to the sites "Open Elections", "Open University" and khodorkovsky.ru was closed.
• On May 21, a report was drawn up against the deputy chairman of Open Russia, Dmitry Semenov, for the fourth time under Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. He was fined six thousand rubles. 15,000 rubles in Krasnodar On July 9, politician Leonid Zaprudin was fined for membership in Open Russia.
