In the United States, a Grand Jury decided to indict 12 GRU officers in a case of interference in the US presidential election. This was announced by US Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
According to Rosenstein, they are accused of organizing cyberattacks to steal documents, as well as their subsequent publication. According to Rosenstein, the hackers, referred to under the pseudonyms DC Leaks and Guccifer 2.0, through which the documents were published, were actually created by the defendants.
The press release of the Ministry of Justice lists the names of the defendants: Viktor Netyksho, Boris Antonov, Dmitry Badin, Ivan Ermakov, Alexei Lukashev, Sergei Morgachev, Nikolai Kozachek, Pavel Ershov, Artem Malyshev, Alexander Osadchuk, Alexei Potemkin and Anatoly Kovalev.
The Ministry of Defense did not comment on the accusations against the alleged GRU employees at the time of publication of the news.
