Moscow effectively blames the U.S. Deep State for the Justice Department's ‘disgraceful’ indictment of 12 alleged Russian military intelligence hackers
The American Deep State is trying to derail Donald Trump’s meeting next week with Vladimir Putin and “spoil the atmosphere ahead of the Russian-American summit,” according to officials in Moscow. Responding to the U.S. Justice Department’s indictment of 12 suspected GRU officers in the hacking of the Clinton campaign and Democratic Party in 2016, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday: “It’s still a question how long they [in Washington] will continue to act out this shameful farce that disgraces the United States.”
The Foreign Ministry also claimed that the Justice Department’s indictment “absolutely fails to show” that the suspects belong to Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate or that they were involved in cyber-attacks.
In Washington, they’re struggling with all their might to resurrect this old quack story about Russia’s supposed “interference in the 2016 American presidential election.” This is precisely why special counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed to investigate something that never happened, has brought charges against 12 persons named as officers in the Main Intelligence Directorate of Russia’s Armed Forces.
