The judge of the Tushino district court of Moscow Natalya Khomyakova sentenced the comedian Ilya Maddison (the real name of Davydov) to one and a half years conditionally in the case of extremism. The verdict made on May 18, only now said Ren-TV.

Maddison was declared guilty under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred or enmity). As follows from the case card on the court’s website, the trial took place in one meeting. This allows us to conclude that the case was considered in a special order. Ren-TV also reports that, according to some reports, the comedian fully pleaded guilty.

The verdict did not appeal and on May 29 entered into force.

On February 10, 2017, the Chechen Directorate of the Investigative Committee, at the request of the regional prosecutor's office , initiated a matter of arousing hatred or enmity to Muslims and Christians for a performance with a sketch about the Qur'an against Maddison . However, REN -TV reports that the comedian was sentenced to the comedian not on this case, but in another way - also excited for some video with discussions about religion.

According to Mediazona, in May last year, another video recording of a blogger was included in the list of extremist materials about the sketch about the Qur'an - "Maddyson about Islam, the Qur'an and Muslims."

The investigation in the case, in which Maddison was convicted, was conducted by the philistine department of the Moscow headquarters of the TFR.

In January 2017, after Dagestan officials initiated a blogger’s injury beyond the sketch about the Qur'an, Maddison emigrated. When and why he returned to Russia, is unknown.

Maddison read a two -minute sketch about the Qur'an in 2012 in one of the Moscow clubs. Pouring the speech abundantly with swearing, the comedian told how he went to read the Qur'an to the toilet, and then found out that the toilet paper was over. As a result, he concluded contrary to the expectations of the audience, he had to rub his toe. Maddison demonstrated the allegedly used sock and put it in the book, which he held in his hands. He then threw the sock into the hall, and said about the book that in fact it was not a Qur'an, but a Bible.

The video recording was published on YouTube back in April 2015. However, Maddison's persecution began only almost two years later, after in January 2017, a link to the video was placed in the Islamic Telegram channel "demand knowledge." The commentary on the publication said: "Look how this kafir humiliates Muslims, offends the word of Allah."

In the very first days of persecution, Maddison apologized for his performance.
