It became known that the Tushinsky District Court of Moscow on May 18 sentenced video blogger Ilya Davydov (Maddyson) to one and a half years of probation. This is reported by Mediazona with reference to the press service of the court.
Davydov was found guilty of inciting hatred or enmity (part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code) because of the video. According to REN TV, the blogger talked about religion in the video.
In February 2017, the Chechen prosecutor's office published a message stating that a criminal case had been opened against Davydov because of the video “Joke about the Koran”. According to law enforcement officers, in the video “there are actions and statements aimed at humiliating a person and a group of people on the grounds of their relationship to the religions of Islam and Christianity.” However, the news was later removed from all official Chechen websites.
The video itself was recognized as extremist, as was another video by Davydov called "Maddyson about Islam, the Koran and Muslims." The blogger was threatened for making jokes about Muslims, after which Davydov deleted his social media accounts.
