The Victory of the FSB over Bastrykin: What does the arrest of the ex-head of the UK in Moscow mean

Today, one of the most characteristic detective stories of recent years for modern Russia-FSB operatives detained the ex-head of the capital's head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Drymanov in Moscow, and he was arrested closer in the evening. The prosecutor’s office in court accused Drymanov of receiving a bribe in the case of criminal authority Shakro young back in the beginning of this year, but the leadership of the UK did not surrender its subordinate to the last.

• The decision on the detention was made about a month ago, and it itself happened last night in the Moscow business center, writes RBC. The general is accused of the fact that together with his deputy Denis Nikandrov and the head of the Investigative Department of the Central Administration of Moscow Alexei Kramarenko, as well as the head of the Office of his own security, the UK Mikhail Maksimenko and his subordinates Alexander Lamonov received $ 800 thousand from the thief in the Law of Zakharia Kalashov (Shakro young) for his ally Alexander Kochuykov (Italian) from a bid. The famous shootout on Rochdelskaya Street in the center of Moscow at the end of 2016. All other accused of receiving a bribe by the security forces have long been arrested.
• The FSB conducted the searches with Drymanov and the first interrogation of last year, and in January, the representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office officially stated in court that the general received a bribe from Shakro. Drymanova, however, the leadership of the UK did not give it to the investigation to the last. As this happened, Kommersant described in detail: only the head of the Committee Alexander Bastrykin can initiate a case against the head of the regional administration of the IC, and he refused to do this, despite the requirements of the FSB. But in early June, Drymanov had to resign - this deprived him of immunity. After dismissal, the general tried to get a lawyer status (in this case, only the UK could also be held accountable), but did not have time.
• The media have no doubt that the arrest of Drymanov, like the whole “Shakro young case”, is the result of the war between the FSB and the Investigative Committee, in which the latter suffered another defeat. The version of the supporters of the arrested general SK is most likely closest to the text in Kommersant. According to it, the general had friction with the FSB due to the fact that he "used to lead the investigation himself and did not really listen to the hints from some representatives of operational services."
• Drymanov worked in the UK since 2008, is known for the investigation of the “second case of Yukos” and participation in the “Magnitsky List” - the general once signed a refusal to verify the actions of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Moscow after the death of the Hermitage Capital accountant.

The case of Shakro young and generals from the Investigative Committee is the most vivid corruption business of recent years and an excellent illustration of how the security forces make business in the 2010s. The resignation and arrest of the “strong nut” among the suspects gives a signal: the FSB from this summer gained an advantage over competitors.
