The general is suspected of taking a bribe for the release from criminal liability of Andrei Kochuykov (Italian), an associate of crime boss Zakhary Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy).
Details
- According to RBC, Drymanov was detained the day before in Moscow after a meeting in one of the business centers. He is being treated as a suspect in the case, and the decision to detain him was made about a month ago. According to RBC, Drymanov's detention was accelerated by his active attempts to obtain the status of a lawyer in the Volgograd region, which would allow him to become a special subject of criminal proceedings. With the status of a lawyer, only the Investigative Committee could bring the general to criminal responsibility.
- Drymanov lost his special subject status after he resigned from his post as head of the Investigative Committee for Moscow at the end of May. The official presidential decree on the resignation of Drymanov was not published, but on the website of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, his name is no longer mentioned among the leadership. After Drymanov's resignation report, it was decided to arrest him, a source in the UK told the publication.
- Previously, Drymanov was a witness in a criminal case on taking a bribe by high-ranking officials of the Investigative Committee. But at the beginning of 2018, the Prosecutor General's Office named Drymanov involved in taking a bribe along with his subordinates.
Context
- According to the investigation, Drymanov, as well as his former subordinates Denis Nikandrov (former deputy head of the investigative department of the ICR for Moscow), Alexander Lamonov (deputy Maksimenko) and Alexei Kramarenko (former head of the Investigative Committee for the Central District of Moscow), as well as Mikhail Maksimenko (head of the department of interdepartmental interaction and own security of the TFR) for a bribe contributed to the release from custody of an associate of the crime boss Zakhary Kalashov (Shakro young) Andrey Kochuykov (nicknamed Italian). Nikandrov testified against Drymanov. He told investigators that in 2016 he paid Drymanov €9,850 for “general patronage” and appointment as his deputy. The general denied the charges against him, and called Nikandrov's testimony a "slander."
- The FSB tried to initiate a case against him for a long time, it follows from the case file. The operatives sent the documents on Drymanov to the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Bastrykin, but he “did not let them in.” Drymanov was considered his close associate , sources told RBC.
