On July 28, a rally will take place in Sochi against pension reform, increases in gasoline prices and taxes.
The event was organized by the Sochi branch of the Left Front. Everyone who is concerned about the authorities’ plans to raise the retirement age is invited to the rally.
The action will take place on July 28 at the Square of Arts (Kurortny Ave. 51). The rally starts at 10-00.
The organizers want to see ZSK deputies from the city of Sochi at the rally. To do this, an appeal was sent to the chairman of the ZSK with a request to send deputies to the rally so that they voiced their position on issues that concern people, the group “Sochi Commune” says.
This is the first action against raising the retirement age that will take place in Sochi after the lifting of restrictions on public events that were in effect in the region during the World Cup.
On July 28, a similar event will take place in the Chistyakovskaya Grove in Krasnodar. The protesters will oppose pension reform, rising prices and tax increases. The organizer of the action was the local branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
A bill to raise the retirement age was submitted to the State Duma on June 16. It is expected that the final version will be adopted this fall. The bill stipulates that the retirement age for men will increase to 65 years, and for women - to 63 years. This government initiative caused a storm of discontent among citizens.
