The Ministry of Labor has compiled a holiday schedule for 2019. Russians expect a long New Year and May weekend.
- According to the proposed schedule, non-working days will last from January 1 to January 8, and December 29 and 30, 2018 are also days off.
- The days off of January 5-6 and the public holiday on February 23, which falls on Saturday, are transferred to May. Thus, in May, the holidays will last first from the 1st to the 5th, and then from the 9th to the 12th.
- March 8th falls on a Friday next year.
- Also, days off are scheduled for Russia Day, June 12 (Tuesday), and National Unity Day, November 4 (Monday).
- The proposals of the Ministry of Labor must be approved by the government.
