The cost of the national project “Demography” will be 3.5 trillion rubles

The total amount of funding for the national project "Demography" will amount to more than 3.5 trillion rubles. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.

“First of all, it is necessary to take care of the health of the older generation. This means that all possible health problems should be sought to be identified in the early stages. To do this, the scale of medical examination and dispensary observation should be increased. In each region, it is necessary to create geriatric centers to preserve the health of older people and, of course, to make the system of social services and care for older people modern and convenient,” Medvedev said.

He added that within the framework of the national project on demography, the activities of health centers and medical prevention cabinets should be improved.
