Roskomnadzor blocked the VPN service Hideme.ru

On July 24, 2018, Roskomnadzor added the VPN service HideMy.name (formerly Hideme.ru) to the register of banned sites.

The reason for entering into the register on the website of the department is the decision of the Medvedev District Court of Yoshkar-Ola dated July 4, 2017.

Now the service continues to work at a new address.

• The Hideme.ru VPN service was already included in the register of banned sites in January 2017 due to the fact that on its main page there was an anonymizer input line that allowed opening any address directly from the site. Because of this, the service moved to the HideMy.name domain. After a few months, access to the service was unlocked .
• Since November 2017, a law has been in force in Russia requiring VPN services to block access to sites entered in the Roskomnadzor registry. Otherwise, they themselves may be blocked.
