Amur Region: Prosecutor General’s Office started a case on a reserve workers

The Blagoveshchensk environmental prosecutor's office launched a criminal case against the employees of the Khnggan reserve in the Amur Region. They are accused of negligence when extinguishing fires.

The agency checked the execution of the Hinganian State Natural Reserve by the federal state institution of fire safety laws in forests. It turned out that according to the plan for extinguishing forest fires in the reserve for the fire hazard season of this year, 33 people were assigned to forest fire work. At the same time, only 12 people worked on the extinguishing of the March fire, and 10 people from April 2 extinguished the fire.

At the same time, according to the agency, despite the rapid spread of fire, the reserve directorate did not attract additional forces and funds of the Arkharin Forestry and the Air Base of the Amur region, although agreements were concluded with them.

Due to the inaction of the reserve workers, the area of the first fire from 2 hectares increased to 676 hectares, that is, 338 times. And the second hearth from 10 hectares grew to 4709 - 407 times.

The environmental prosecutor sent the materials to the investigating authorities to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution of the perpetrators. As a result, a criminal case of negligence was made. An investigation is underway.
