The landfill of solid household waste is burning in the Khakass city of Chergonorsk. Together with the fire, the level of smoke increased. Citizens complain of smoke, nausea and dizziness.

According to the republican authorities, heavy equipment is involved in the liquidation of the fire - over 20 units. The soil is diverse. The fire directly does not pose a threat to the city, it is more difficult to smoke.

The head of the republic Viktor Zimin arrived in Chernogorsk. “At night I went to the TBO training ground in Chernogorsk to personally control the work on extinguishing the fire. I received many complaints about strong smoke in personal messages. People complained, including nausea and dizziness. He examined the landfill, breathed with caustic smoke, and his head was dizzy. What is happening, of course, disgrace and you need to act here quickly. He created the operational headquarters for liquidation, ”he wrote on his personal blog.

Zimin promises to liquidate the fire on July 24. The republican authorities are asking the inhabitants of Chernogorsk and the nearest settlements to show patience. However, it is warned that when changing the direction of the wind, the smoke is possible towards the settlements.
