The head of the “Other Russia” in Vladivostok was fined for a picture with a swastika

On July 24, the Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok fined Igor Popov, head of the local branch of the Other Russia party, 1,000 rubles for posting a swastika image on the Internet. This was reported on the page of The Other Russia on VKontakte.

Popov was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (propaganda or public demonstration of Nazi symbols) for posting in 2013 an image of Vladimir Putin against the backdrop of a tricolor with a swastika on a social network. The group's post notes that, according to the materials of the case, the study of the picture was carried out by one employee of the state examination, and not two or more, as required by law.

Earlier that day, Igor Popov was visited by employees of the E center. Law enforcement officers, as reported in the group on VKontakte, threatening arrest and problems at work, tried to force the man to sign a confession in Nazi propaganda. After refusing to sign the documents, employees of the E Center took Popov to court.
