A Magadan blogger was sentenced to seven years in a general regime colony for posts on a social network.
The Military Collegium of the Supreme Court upheld the sentence handed down earlier to Magadan blogger Alexander Yudin for posts on the social network. This is reported by "Frontiers. RU".
On May 7, a collegium of the Far Eastern District Military Court found Yudin guilty of publicly justifying terrorism (part 1 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code as amended in 2011) and of publicly justifying terrorism using the Internet (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).
On the first charge, the blogger was sentenced to two and a half years in a penal colony, on the second - to five and a half years. Another year was added to Yudin, canceling the suspended sentence in the previous case - in 2015, a man was tried for non-compliance with copyright law. Thus, Yudin was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony. This is a record term of those that were received by those convicted under the article on the justification of terrorism.
