In Astrakhan, a member of the Union of SSR trade union was detained for filming in front of the police

Olga Safonnikova, a member of the local branch of the Union of the SSR trade union, was detained in Astrakhan. Trade union chairman Alexey Glazunov told OVD-Info about this.

At the moment, the woman is in police department No. 2. Safonnikova was detained because she was filming at the police department - Glazunov asked her to do this in order to thus record the conversation with the major on duty. During the conversation, the chairman wanted to clarify the grounds for the detention of trade union activists.

As a result, the policeman, according to Glazunov, used physical force, began to push him and Safonnikova out of the department, and knocked the phone out of her hands. After this, the woman was placed in a temporary detention center. The interlocutor of OVD-Info drew attention to the fact that Safonnikova is an elderly woman and a third group disabled person. Later it became known that she was charged with disobeying the legal demands of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code).

Then Glazunov called an ambulance, and doctors recorded a beating on the detainee. Then he continued to film what was happening in the lobby of the police department, but the major began to snatch the phone. After that, according to the chairman, the policeman “threw him out of the door” so that he almost fell down the stairs.

Glazunov also told details of the detention of other trade union members. According to him, activists came to the raid with the participation of the tax service and bailiffs and demanded documents confirming the legality of their actions. As a result, they were detained, and Safonnikova and Glazunov arrived at the police department.

• In February 2017, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation considered the complaint of blogger Yan Katelevsky about the ban on photo and video filming of police departments - the court decided to terminate the proceedings due to the fact that the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which prohibited filming, was canceled the day before by the Minister of Internal Affairs Kolokoltsev.

In December 2017, several activists who were filming in the police department were detained in Kazan. Later, the court fined one of them 800 rubles.
• In Syktyvkar, LGBT activist Vyacheslav Slyusarev was fined 500 rubles on charges of disobedience to police officers who demanded to stop video filming at the police station.
