The email contact center of Moscow Domodedovo Airport received an anonymous letter demanding several hundred bitcoins. Otherwise, unknown persons threaten to hack the airport's navigation systems. Interfax reported this with reference to a source in Domodedovo services. Vedomosti's source in the emergency services confirmed this information.

The authors of the letter threaten to remotely interfere by the weekend and harm the operation of the airport’s navigation equipment and claim that they have the technical capabilities to do this.

According to Vedomosti’s source, such “prank threats come every other day.” “When anonymous threats are received, standard procedures are in place to ensure security. This case is no exception. There is no threat to the operation of the airport,” says a Domodedovo representative.

The airport administration has strengthened security measures in the terminal and on the airfield.
