The deputy chief of the Yaroslavl colony escaped a pre -trial detention center

Deputy Head of the Yaroslavl correctional colony No. 1, in which the prisoners were tortured, was sent under house arrest. The decision against Ivan Kalashnikov was issued by the Zavolzhsky District Court of Yaroslavl.

Kalashnikov - the most high -ranking accused in the case of torture in IR No. 1. Six other colony officers detained in this case were sent to a pre -trial detention center.

Video with the torture of the prisoner Evgeny Makarova published in July "New Gazeta". After that, the Investigative Committee started the case of excess of official powers using violence. 17 people were removed from work in the colony, seven of whom were detained.

A year ago, several prisoners of the Yaroslavl colony, including Makarov, complained about torture and beating from the FSIN employees. On the fact of their applications, checks were carried out by the prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee, however, before the advent of video order in July this year, the prisoners received refusals to institute criminal cases.
